Pick two dates and enter how many public holidays fall on working days in that time.

About this tool: Working days calculator

Working days are the days from Monday to Friday. They matter for delivery times, payment terms, notice periods and project plans. Both the first and the last date are included.

Public holidays differ between countries and years, so the calculator does not guess them. Count the holidays that fall on a weekday in your range and enter the number to subtract them.

Formula

Working days = weekdays (Monday to Friday) between the two dates, both included, minus the public holidays you enter.

Worked example

1 to 31 January 2026 has 31 calendar days, of which 22 are weekdays and 9 are weekend days. With 1 public holiday on a weekday that leaves 21 working days.
